As part of the first Bathgate Music Festival, West Lothian Schools Brass Band took part in a concert at the Regal Community Theatre along with Fine Arts Brass and guest soloist (and one time member of WLSBB) Katrina Marzella on solo Baritone.
Fine Arts Brass performed the first half of the concert and for trumpet player Angela Whelan, this performance marked her return home to Bathgate where her career began. Angela also played with West Lothian Schools Brass Band.
For the second half of the concert, Fine Arts Brass were joined by the West Lothian Schools Brass Band, and while the quintet were having a short break, WLSBB were joined by their former principal baritone player Katrina Marzela, to perform Bruce Fraser’s “Sun” - a piece written specifically for WLSBB and Katrina and featured on WLSBB’s Earthrise CD.
An excellent evenings entertainment for a packed and very appreciative audience.
